Sevens & Classics LTD have teamed up with Frugal Racing to pit the Super Seven against the rest and find out just how they compare to the modern motoring world.
To do this we have entered a 1.4L K-series Supersport into the MSV TrackDay Championship. The TDC is made up of 5 classes based on power to weight ratio. Our Caterham, producing 185bhp per tonne, will run in Class A which comprises cars of 175-200bhp per tonne, and is the 2nd of the 5 classes. This will see us going head to head with race prepared Porsche Boxter S’s, BMW M3’s and many others.
Over the course of the year we will attempt to demonstrate just how effective a Caterham can be against these vastly more powerful and heavier cars in different situations. Hopefully we will show by the end why Mr Colin Chapmans’ mantra of “add lightness” was such genius!
